Our Programs: Leadership Coaching
Intake Form
Become a Coach
Email intake form to coaching@unc.edu to get started!
Our ultimate goal is to enhance student's leadership awareness so as to improve leadership presence on campus and in the community. Through peer-to-peer coaching, we will empower students to evaluate their personal leadership styles and provide guidance and tools for reaching their individual goals. This process allows each student to gain specific knowledge, support, and feedback to help them actualize their potential.
Leadership Coaching produces people who are:
-
Stronger leaders
-
Able to utilize more of their natural talents and abilities toward leadership
-
Committed to working on their own growth and development
-
Able to think critically about leadership
-
More committed to leadership within their organizations
The leadership coaching process is as follows:
-
Students complete the intake form that can be found online at leadership.unc.edu or in the CLD office on the third floor of the Union, suite 3505.
-
Initial consultation in which students' leadership skills, style and background are assessed.
-
Student meets with a trained Myers Briggs facilitator to discuss leadership strengths and weaknesses.
-
After initial consultations, student meets with coach to set specific leadership goals based upon their individual results and needs.
-
One-on-one meetings with coach implementing strategies and to hold student accountable for meeting their goals.
-
Final session is held to evaluate the coaching process. Student gains individual feedback and has the opportunity to give feedback.
-
Students incorporate the skills they have obtained into their everyday leadership endeavors.
The coaching relationship is in no way to be considered or construed as psychological counseling or any type of therapy.
