Become a Peer Educator

There is no experience or prior training necessary to be a Peer Educator! All you have to bring is interest to help others and we can give you the tools to refine your skills. The Leadership Foundations advisers will provide workshops and other resources that will help you become comfortable in your role as a peer-to-peer adviser.

A Peer Educator

  1. Has an interest and desire to educate other students about leadership.
  2. Is an individual seeking to improve personal leadership skills.
  3. Seeks to provide service to UNC-Chapel Hill
  4. Has Junior or Senior standing.

* Peer Educators also may receive Restricted Service Hours through the Carolina Center for Public Service for organizing and conducting workshops

Through Leadership Foundations a Peer Educator will

  1. Make a difference on the UNC campus
  2. Have fun with a community of people with similar interests
  3. Gain enhanced program planning, implementation, and evaluation skills
  4. Gain experience in teaching, facilitation, and consultation
  5. Gain knowledge of and experiences in the field of leadership training and development
  6. Meet students, faculty, and staff involved with programs and organizations
  7. Put into practice previously learned leadership skills

Peer Educator Responsibilities

  1. Develop an in-depth understanding of at least two leadership skill topics
  2. Present two interactive workshops per semester
  3. Commit to attend peer educator training session
