About:
With delegations from each of the 12 Atlantic Coast Conference colleges and universities in attendance, the annual ACC Student Leadership Conference - funded by the Athletic Coast Conference Inter-institutional Academic Collaborative - is designed to develop a community of ACC undergraduate students who understand the relationship between global and local issues and work collaboratively to create innovative initiatives that advance students' capacity for global leadership.  Students from each participating university will be grouped with peers from their fellow ACC schools for the duration of the conference.

2012 Student Leadership Conference:
The 2012 ACC Student Leadership Conference is a three-day leadership learning opportunity to engage with peers across the ACC.  Over the course of the conference, students will learn through interactive and dynamic sessions, keynotes, and hands-on group activities to apply the Social Change Model of Leadership to campus life and personal passions.  This year's conference theme centers on The Ethics of Globalization with a special focus on water.

Keynote:

Sam Bozzo, producer, writer, and director of the film Blue Gold: World Water Wars will join us on the first night of the conference. He will talk about the film, his interests on the subject matter, and be open for a question and answer session.

Dr. Greg Allgood of Proctor & Gamble will speak on the second day of the confernece. Dr.  Allgood has been working since 2001 with global partners and relief organizations, flying to countries around the world to get PUR packets into the hands of the people who need them. The stories of his journeys and the lives he's touched are incredibly inspiring.

Every year he travels around the world, distributing PUR packets to people in need, teaching everyone, everywhere how to use this technology to easily turn dirty water into clean, drinkable water helping to prevent illness and save the lives of more children every day.

Dr. Allgood joined P&G in 1986. Through his public health efforts, he worked to improve the lives of others. Today, he is the Director of the Children's Safe Drinking Water Program at Procter & Gamble, is a Senior Fellow in the Sustainability organization, and leads P&G's efforts to provide clean drinking water in the developing world.
